Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I have created a pattern and a ruled surface in grasshopper and I am having trouble mapping the patten onto the surface.

Can anyone give me some tips please? I have just started learning Grasshopper and I'm struggling.

thank you so much!

Get into the habit working with branches, it is easier than it seems, and the long will be much more efficient.

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for ur quick response.
Is there any way I can resolve this exercise with remap, considering that in my coursework I haven't got to trees yet, and I don't really understand them yet either?
Thank you!
Diana

Hi Diana,

If you create a BBox around all of your Curves (make sure has a flattened input and set to Union Box) then you can use the Map Srf component quite easily.

Some more pointers.

Dispatch will send items to different outputs with the same pattern i.e. a Pattern and an Inverse Pattern.

Also, without going into full blown tree mode you can start to use List management components like List Item to reduce the number of components on the canvas.

thank you so much.

this is very helpful.
