Map to Surface Problems

Working with roll bended steel plates I want to map geometry onto a semicircular surface.

Is the map to surface component a fruitful approach? Anyhow I don´t get the results I expected from the component. I want my curve to relate to the target surface in the same way as the base surface.

Is the result the expected and if so what exactly happened and how do I get my curve onto the surface?

Nope sorry. The curve end up all distorted compared to the original. I am trying to emulate what happens when you roll bend a plate with holes in it. A bit harder than i expected unfortunately. Thank you anyway!

This one should be what you want then.
(Due to limited time I'll have to take a closer look at why the MapSrf way didn't work some other time. Did you find any bug reports for the MapSrf component?)
