Map to Surface

That's the correct behavior of the component, afaik. As it says in the description, it will map the curves control points. In your case if you are trying to map line, only the start and end points will be on the surface, the connecting segment will still be straight.

What you are looking for is the "surface morph" component. Also, make sure its a nurbs curve object.
