Lunchbox on untrimmed surface

Hi everyone,

I think this is an old problem but I couldnt find the solution. I wanted to do lunchbox or random rectangular on a untrimmed surface. How can I eliminated the "trimmed" parts.

A bit annoying, but you could do somthing like this.
There might be other smart solutions, I hope. Best.

but srfsplit is heavy when you have many subdivisions.
