Loop component ?

Hi David ! And best wishes for 2010.
Speaking of wishes... :)
Will it be possible to add a "Loop" component that could redefine input variables based on previously calculated ones ?
I have this silly little definition I want to do, but it definitely needs looping in order to work.
Since the only scripting language I know is Rhinoscript which is not supported, I'm stuck.
So : should I start learning VB.net or should I hold my breath for a "loop" component ?

How long can you hold your breath?

Loops are a planned feature, but since they have a lot in common with the (upcoming) cluster component, they'll have to wait until after Clusters have been properly tested. This will be months at the very least.

Vb.NET loop syntax is pretty similar to VBScript loop syntax, so as long as you don't have to deal with OOP too much the transition should be quite doable.

I'd never be Lyon to you about this, and after all, what have you got Toulouse?

It's very nice to hear that the Loop and Cluster componets are upcoming!
I try a little VB.Net when I have too, but otherwise I hold my breath...

due to hoopsnake development, is your loop compontent going to be published ?

Oh yes, this is all still very much in the pipeline. But before I can start on loops I have to make clusters work error-free. At any rate, HoopSnake has taken a very different approach to the matter than I was planning, so even when I finally get around to it it won't make HoopSnake obsolete.
