Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi at all. I'm new in grasshopper, i'm trying to design my first project with grass.

I have a little problem about some logics commands. I should build a capsule home for 4-6 people, so the lenght is variable. My idea was that the lenght could be modified at top of the algorithm with the selection, through a numb.slider, if the capsule home is for 4 or 6 people, so all surfaces would change with a single command. The problem is how to transfer the results from the logics commands to the object that grasshopper should create as the translation of a curve or to define the lenght of the extrusion of a curve starting from the number of the people who occupy the capsule.

Thanx

Hi!

I share the same task. We could share some ideas. What do you think?

I though first in use scale and a evaluate algorithm to scale a geometry according to the number of people living in the capsule (1, 2, 3...) with a number slider. But i don't want to double scale a capsule for 2 people, neither triplicate to a 3-people capsule. So i tried to add a varialble to the scale factor (1+%). A percent number according to the number of people. But, it doesn't work. And i don't know why.

Also i thought in a panneling algorithm starting to a isotrim surface. So i would put a geometry (the capsule) in a box morth and the capsule geometry will adapt acording to the surface form.

I really need some help!

It's a college work. And i really have to get it!

So thanks for attention. Please, let's share ideas and sorry about my english. It's not my birth language.

Luck for us!

Bye!

Well  Guilherme, this post is very old and i completed this work. using the numb slider for obtain the variable geometry is the better way, but you should divide then the algorithm in two parts, the first  part make you possible to manage the shape of your capsule from the input about the occupants or others options, and then the second part of the algorithm could permit you to manage the operations of paneling from the shape obtained.

If i can help u with other problems post here.

Bye

Oh, now i see the date. Sorry.
I'm just new user of Grasshopper.
I'll try your advice!
Thanks!

Bye!
