algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi guys,
I am wondering if its possible to "load" a grasshoper script on a server on the web, kind of like you can do with a processing script. The idea is to have a script which any user can modify and get a costum output.
Many thanks!

Straight away, flux.io comes to mind. Its probably not exactly what you are looking for, but still worth looking in to.
Also you should take a look at Iris, which is a WebGL renderer for Rhino geometry, so 1 part of the thing you would need.
Apart from those I am not aware of being able to run grasshopper on the web. Depending on what you want to do, it also wouldn't be sensible, because GH is quite cpu intense, so you would either need something like a Javascript version of GH that runs in the browser (not going to happen) or you run it on the server and just produce the output, but you would have to run instances of it, which would be rather heavy on the server and it wouldn't be very responsive. I mean it depends if you want to just have a GH file controlled over the web, or if you want everyone to control their own copy of the GH file (I guess you want the later case). The later I am afraid I cant see happening any time soon.
One more thing you should look at is x.io, which is pretty awesome. So maybe GH + Human UI + x.io = awesome? Still probably not exactly what you are looking for.
Hi Armin,
Was using x.io with GH + Human UI just an idea or is that something you have done or have you seen an example of this. I've been looking for a way to upload my GH definitions with Human UI. Any info you have on this would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve
You might also want to have a look at ShapeDiver and Speckle.
Also there is this: https://www.packhunt.io/
Looks really good!
Thank you very much guys,
I did check it out, its quite interesting, but its a pitty that it dosent support any gh python components yet!
cheers
Nicholas
Hi Nicholas,
I'm assuming you're talking about ShapeDiver, which indeed doesn't support gh python components yet. It's high on our list, and we know how useful it would be for many gh users, but:
- to be honest, the list is long ;)
- we need to implement several security measures
That being said, you are welcome to post your suggestions on the forum, our priorities depend mostly on what users need.
Cheers
Mathieu
Hi Nick,
It's been mentioned already, but I would suggest Speckle
Welcome to
