Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone,
I am trying to extract points from a surface inorder to make lines like the image.

But when I try this with list items, I am able to get the desired points but dont know how to get seperate lines. Somehow the horizontal ones seem to work fine! Please help!

Many Thanks

hi, i suggest also to have the 'draw fancy lines' mode ON when you try to solve this problem, i think it would help in finding the right direction for the solution. at least it did when i was trying to solve a similar problem..
draw fancy lines? what is that?
'draw fancy wires', sorry in the View menu
hey I just realized that!! could you please tell me what is this option for?

I realized some of the wires got thinker but I dont understand the use of this
I would be thankfull if you could explain it a little
thanks
take care
Fancy Wires will draw 4 kinds of wires instead of the default single stroke.

1) Orange wires: No data is flowing from left to right.
2) Single stroke: A single piece of data is flowing from left to right.
3) Double stroke: A list of data is flowing from left to right.
4) Dashed stroke: A hierarchical data structure is flowing from left to right.

Ah I saw 2more replies to this post and got excited expecting an answer to my problem! But it is still about the fancy wires??? C'mon!
[Hehe sorry!]
heeeeey! but with that video tutorial you should be able
to do what you want
C'mon!
[Haha sorry!]
here's a very partial solution that i made when trying to solve a similar problem. it works only with certain surface division factors but it might give you some hint
bye

here you go.
It's based off of the video tutorial posted above. watch it and use this as a reference if you'd like ...

i forgot to tell that of course you should generalize the numbers that now are defined with the sliders, and relate them with the u,v subdivisions number, and with the subdivisions list's lenght...
