Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

My model fails to be built. After re-arranging the geometry I convert a simple lattice tower into beams with the Line to beam component in Karamba.

But somehow it generates much more nodes than I expect. It should be 20 nodes from the 36 lines.

What can be the issue? How can I solve it?

Thanks

Hi Balazs,

you need to flatten the line input to the Line to Beam component otherwise it keeps all the lines in the branch structure and therefore you have more nodes that you expected.

best,
Matthew

Matthew, thanks for your answer. In the meantime I watched one of your tutorials and I found the same ;) Now works fine and I have a good progress in my R&D

PS.: I am quite new to Grasshopper and Karamba but I am still amazed that how big impact these two have on structural engineering. I still remember the time when we have run FEA in DOS environment. ...and now we can change the input geometry however we want, which was basically "welded" before with the load patterns. Fantastic!
