Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello GH Community,

I have two curves, an inner and outer curve that I have divided into points. Can anyone provide any insight into creating multiple line connections between points on two curves but also have some rule not to overlap. See the image for an example (letter K) I want to achieve. I only want to achieve this by using outer curve points and inner curve points as opposed to the grid of points shown in the image. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have so far thought of this approach but it seems quite time consuming. GH definition attached.

Also, i tried attaching one closer to the sections that tuck away and closest point doesn't reach inside.

Any ideas GH COmmunity?  Thanks in advance for your time.

I am hoping someone can show me a more improved way of executing this. This image is a better representation of what I would like to achieve.

The attached definition is messy! but now i have an issue of overlapping lines into the space i want to leave blank.

Can anyone help?

I was just about to repost the question with a better image. More like this with a little more randomness to it.

this is fantastic! is there a way to reduce the number of lines? there are 11 lines off each point and I was wondering how you would go about reducing that to say 5 or 6?

thanks for the link too - I am reading it now.

thank you so much for your responses!

Try "Random Reduce".

Check this as well.

is there also a way to control the number of strings coming off each point?

sorry for all the questions so fast but I have been trying to figure this out all night.

Is there also a way to connect the lines so one line starts at an outer point wraps (connects) with an inner point and then back to a different outer point. just like if you were to string it in real life.

Thank you Hyungsoo for this, it is so much easier than the definition I was working on.

You might want to see "this".

Thank you for your work I tried to use this script to realize a panel with a word on it but it works just with one letter. Can I ask you some help also to understand how the script works? Thank you.
