Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey guys,

I have just started learning grasshopper and well there seems to be so much information that I don't know where I should start. That being said, I was thinking if there is a way that I could import a scan with a dense triangulated mesh, somehow use the surface or extract it and then well apply a customized pattern onto the surface and also add a thickness with optimum smoothness. So basically, I had a scan of anything, could I import it and well put on it a pattern of my own choice?

If anyone can help, it would be wonderful

Thank You!

Hi Gaurav,

it is always helpful to see some files to understand what do you want and to work in.

Greetings,

Hendrik

Hey,

I have been experimenting so I used my XBox to scan my arm and I have attached the file. The document is .MIX so hope thats ok? So my question was can I create a uniform pattern on the entire scan surface? If so then how? and I have also attached an image which highlights my intentions very roughly actually. The open ends of the scan highlighted in yellow in the image, I want those areas to be solid and the scan body to have pattern.

Thank you and let me know if its possible.
