Hi all,
This might be more of a mathematical question than a GH-technique question, but I'll try anyway:
I would like to construct a latitude-longitude-grid on a sphere. [As I understand it, unlike the default mesh on a sphere in Rhino/Grasshopper], the lat-lon-grid has quasi-uniform grid spacing, so that every given rectangle on the grid approximates a square. The approximated squares gets infinitely small at the poles, but continues to be approximated squares rather than rectangles.
In my particular case, I would like the density of the grid to be multiplied by two in the latitude direction so that it is approximated half squares, (because I need that for the rest of the project for generating hexagon plates), but that is of less importance to the problem.
I have made a GH definition (attached) which is very complicated, and was hoping that someone could help with suggestions for how to simplify it.
Thanks,
Anne
