algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Should be simple!
I want to drop a mesh onto the XY plane to orient it.
I've tried this with Kangaroo2 but it doesn't seem to be quite doing what I expect it to.
How should I do this?
Mesh data should be internalised.

I think you are on the right track...
Try changing both your RB and Floor strength to 1000 and see if that holds the mesh tight enough to the XY plane. Unless are you trying to get each of your 6 legs to deform and touchdown on the floor?
Thanks Taz,
Yeah I figured out i needed to up the strength. I was aiming to keep the mesh rigid and not deform it, just hadn't realised exactly what strength was doing.
I'm doing this to aid 3d printing on a cheap 3d printer... I drop the mesh so it sits on a level surface and then drop all the mesh points down to the XY plane so I get a nice big flat footprint in contact with the print bed. If I don't do this I end up with small point contacts with the print bed and loads of support structure which inevitably ends up with a poor surface finish and the print curling up at the edges.
