algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hello everybody,

i'm new in kangaroo, trying to discover tensile structures. I searched for some tutorials and started focusing on the topic "mesh relaxation" so using hooke's law.

i'm uploading a photo to try to describe what i would like to start doing.

I wasn't successful in writing a definition, but i would like sort of lofting the lower curve to all of the higher curves applying also relaxation.

an example could be otto frei's structures or circus structures.

i could do some relaxation between 2 curves by lofting the two crvs and then meshing the srf and then passing the mesh into grasshopper.

but i cannot think of what to do when i want to create a unifying tent with holes.

I would be really grateful if someone could explain me how i can get where i want.

It is probably easier to make a surface from the curves with them all in the same plane, using Rhino's surface from Planar Curves command on your boundary and circles, then mesh it.

For the meshing it is important to get enough triangles, so in the mesh settings, turn off the 'simple planes' option, and set a value for the maximum edge length that ensures there are no long triangles spanning all the way between 2 boundaries.

Then using Kangaroo, bake the NakedPts into Rhino then set them as anchors. Start the simulation and move your circles to the desired heights.

seems to be exactly what i was looking for. thank you very much.

the only thing is that my mesh is breaking whenever i move the points. is there any configuration like stiffness or RestLengthFactor or anything else that i'm still missing? or why should my mesh keep breaking?

It's difficult to say without seeing the file.

It looks fine, except for the meshing settings, here's the mesh you have, alongside an improved one, with the settingsIf the triangles are too long and skinny, it causes instabilities in the relaxation

I just test your files, run the toggle and move some points.
