item index has a bug?

Because Item Index does not compare values, it compares memory addresses. The number 3 you're trying to find using the left slider is stored in a different place in memory than the number 3 in the list. On the right hand side, it's the same value.

If you want to compare values, you should use the [Member Index] components in the Sets panel. But that only works on simple data types such as booleans, integers, numbers, text, colours etc.
