Is there a grasshopper definition that can create something similar to the attached files?

I don't think Grasshopper was instrumental in this. Some sort of sub-d modelling scheme seems more likely. I remember once using a freeware program useful for creating mathematical knots using a box-modelling approach, but I can't for the life of me remember now what it was called.

First off, thanks for the reply!

Yeah, the mathematical precision of the two models is what drew me to that conclusion.  Seemed like an algorithm to me.

P.S.Thanks for the tip regarding the freeware program.  I'll look into that!
