Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

so I have installed mono and had ironpython running in the terminal today. I also noticed the new command "MonoLoadPlugin" it seems to only like the .dll not the .exe that mono loads from the command line but I assume I am just not looking in the correct place.

In any event it seems that my mac can now load .net programs any idea or insight into when one may expect a grasshopper version for iRhino??

Hi Joel,

For as long as Grasshopper is still tied to Rhino4, this will not be possible. Well actually, it would be possible if we make two versions of Grasshopper, one for Rhino4 and one for Rhino5+RhinoMac. In fact, I suspect this is where we'll head.

I'm currently porting all Grasshopper code over to a Mono-compatible flavour of our SDK, and I suspect I'll be done with this in about 1~2 months. I'm slowed down quite a bit by missing features in the new SDK, which I then have to write first (or wait while someone else writes them for me).

It's very difficult to put a date on this project, partly because there are still issues with Windows.Forms on Mono, and the 3rd party library we use for displaying VB and C# code does not run on Mono at all.
