Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone,

As I'm dealing with some geometrical problems I have to use lines (I mean infinite lines), but I still haven't found a way to create one.

I was even more surprised when I saw that the intersection between two planes (that are infinites) is a segment whose length is allways comprised between 0 and 1, whereas it should be an infinite line.

Does anyone has a solution ?

Merci !

Hi Etienne,

you cannot create infinite objects in Rhino or Grasshopper. The lines you get out of the Plane|Plane intersection are indeed finite, but there are plenty of Components that use finite lines and treat them like mathematically infinite entities. The entire Mathematical section in the Intersection tab provides methods to intersect geometry with infinite lines and planes.

Thanks for your answer David.
Indeed, I didn't realise that many components treat lines like infinite entities.
Everything seems so easy now...
