algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi
I have both a search and a wish for David, many of us create Grasshopper models that can and will be used by other people. For this we would like to enable the user to set data but not to tinker with the grasshopper graph, either intentionally or unintentionally.
Is it possible to create an external panel that would enable a user to greate geometry while keeping the grasshopper logic hidden?
Or perhaps better, and this is the wish for you David, have the option to select the input and ouput components that can be accessed and then save the file with a password protection.
This way when the user opens the file the logic is visible but non modifiable except for the components defined when saving this file.
Have a nice day

Im working on a real time sync between excel and grasshopper so that the user could drive input parametrs directly from excel and have them updated in grasshopper in real time though back ground threading. Theoretically they would not need to touch anything in grasshopper.
A video is here:

I think it would be great if david could implement a means to drive a "publish" only UI/Canvas for grasshopper. Something MathCAD is really cool about is that a user can convert a live mathcad document in to a live published electronic document that only parametr drivers can be changed and the user cannot alter or delete components on the published document. These documents can then be tabulated and stored in an electronic library. It woudl be awesome if GH could do the same, you could have an electronic library of GH sheets for certain repetitive tasks that could be deployed to end users.
Also, like a gh Document, MathcAD documents are based on XML and can be published to the web.
Hi RubberDuck
It is possible share a compoment for read on write a excel files.
Thanks for post, it's interesting...
GH used xml file, I'm worked to interface for write a xml file, and GH read a xml for update a 3D model.
