Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

Noob here - I am trying to re create the types of patterns you see on the consumer 3d printers infill patterns in 2D.

http://wiki.evilmadscientist.com/Creating_filled_regions

(in particular the inset method)

These guys have a way to do it in inkscape - looking to see if there is a simple way to create anything in GH. I have used offset with series and tween curves witch work OK.

The next step would be to have them connect as one long vector / curve.

Not sure where to start look TBH.

My endgame is to, say, create a voronoi with these inset patterns.

Thanks :)

You should look at Clipper- its a plugin for Rhino and Grasshopper that can do polyline offsets really well. Much better than the GH native offset, which is pretty terrible. With that you will be able to do what you want fairly easily. Just feed it several offsets.
