Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

the script here is used to inflate/bulge closed polylines touching each others. The bulge of each edge is tio of surface from the closed polylines having the same edge. I wanted to make that after seeing "NERVOUS SYSTEM GETS UNGRIDDED: A NEW SERIES OF COLORING BOOKS AND NOTEBOOKS"

http://n-e-r-v-o-u-s.com/blog/?p=7323

The script uses Sandbox plugin for closed polylines topology, Human for drawing curves, Bifocals to show the names of component, Anemone for generating some Voronoi. I got Grasshopper message that I did too much Voronoi !!!

here a first render with no inflation

Hi Laurent

Great stuff! I was playing around with your script, with some interesting added results.

a Question arises: Is it possible to do random extrusion of a number of Meshes, or Berps?

Something like that ?

Exactly like that! :) I need a how to, ..... if & when you have some time, thanks!

No problem Kim (dinner time in France),

first extract closed curves from the join curves component (they must be closed). I connect a curve component and I internalize data, cut this component curve, copy it on another script (provided).

If you look at Nervous site you will see that they also apply some kind of inflated curves on a sort ofmetal bowl.

thanks again! I will be adding that to be collection of GH script routines.

That is pretty!

Pattern applied on a surface, it could be the same on volume. Beware trim is long. Using example from :

C'est joli, Laurent!

Thanks,

I copied from N-E-R-V-O-U-S !!!

Here is another way of orienting inflation.

A value is associated to each closed polyline, here a distance. Now inflation has the same "pressure" and is oriented toward low ou high value (slider bulge)

I used lunchbox in order to have hexagons.
