Any idea how to make something like this! but I mean construction wise. a def that could actually be build just like this on on maya!
I have run into many def that can make something really similar to this but just for the look! I have been trying to make soemthing like for a long time anyone has any ideas where to begin?
thanks any help would be apriciate it!

fa!
Yeah man! and I know how to use it pretty well.
the thing is that this seems so difficult that I wouldnt know how to start.
any help would be apriciate it!
here you go...
now only with one attractor point, but it can be easily replaced with attractig curve or smth...
well this def is similar to this other def that I had.
take a look! I attached a file
but it would be really hard to actually use this def to build it right?
there are just lines lofted.
I guess that what its really hard to make is the column, where the plane sits. so you could then laser cut it and then place the long planes on top of it!
Do I make sense?

Unfortunately, I don't have the time to do this right now, BUT I will try to describe the approach that I would take.
Use the angled lines as place holders for the more complex geometry of the clip ("C" shaped bit that holds the surface) and column (the bit that supports and varies by angle).
I would create a polyline that defines the clip and rotate all the points of that polyline EXCEPT the two on the original surface. (see attached sketch). It doesn't leave you with as slender a column. Its really a triangle, but it will be structurally sound and easier to implement. If it has to be exactly the same you need to create a function that defines how the right-hand point moves in relation to the angle.
nice man...I will try to figure this out
but how cqn I use the angled lines as place holders for the more complex geometry of the clip ("C" shaped bit that holds the surface)
thanks again take care
doens't seems to be very complicated...
1 surface in rhino
2 serie of lines (sdl lines)
3 measuring the distance from the beginning of the line to the surface (either surface cp or intersection )
4 connecting the rotation of the direction vector with the distance
5 lofting the lines
that's it
its not that easy!
take a look at this

also take a look at my reply to Mateusz Zwierzycki
any ideas?
