algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi!
I am new to grasshopper & honey bee, so I hope my mistake will be a quick one to fix. Pardon my English, it´s not my first language. I´ll give u a little pre-story of how I built the model, as maybe mistake lies in my tread construction...
1. I was trying to do energy simulation for an apartment, consisting of 4 zones (hallway; wc; kitchen; living room). Apartment is located in multi storey building, in a way that heat loss is only trough one external wall, that also has a window. (so, no roof, no ground for this apartment=> it´s located on 5th floor between other floors(apartments))
2. I tried to set necessary zone walls facing outwards to adiabatic (as there is no heat loss), but I couldn't find tutorial on how to do it in an efficient way (with multi zone situation), so, I deconstructed brep of one living room zone => assigned surfaces to adiabatic and external wall => created new HB zone (to run simulation this time for one zone only)
3. I assigned location, and requested energy simulation outputs (similarly like in Chris Mikey´s Honeybee tutorial on youtube), however after running simulation, i get 4 warnings and results for the total energy; total thermal energy; thermal energy balance; heating are missing.
I tried to google the warnings, but could not find the answer online.
If anybody has time to look into this matter, I appreciate your time and effort. :)
Sincerely,
Aija

You can set the surfaces to adiabatic by type. Check this example. In case you need to use decomposeZone you have to deal with DataTrees in Grasshopper which might be hard for a beginner. Post this question to Ladybug forum and I hope someone has an example file to share.
Thank you very much for your answer Mostapha.
Do you think that is why I am not getting thermal and heating energy simulation results?
Would you suggest to reconstruct the HB zones?
Because for now, it seems I managed to get other surfaces adiabatic (just in a more complex manner, i guess, i will surely check your suggestion), and one necessary surface to external wall, but I am not getting simulation results that I requested.
Sincerely,
Aija
Hi all!
I found out that because I had set ´´is conditioned_´´ to ´´false´´ under ´´createHBzones´´ I did not get heating/cooling output.
(I did it intentionally as I thought it will only affect cooling output. I guess not.)
So, problem solved.
