Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone,

I am trying to make a gh script to save me time recolouring the maps and making them vector from print-screens. But, as you can see from the screenshot, the colours I get in the preview do not match the colours from the source image. I think that UV points are placed good (center of polyline>remap to image UV>colour sample), even when I display the points with evaluate surface, they are on the right spot but they just are not picking the correct colors. Although, they might seem close, they are off (in hue / saturation) in the centre of the map.

One idea that I have is to try and remap them from RGB colors to a gradient (255,0,0>255,255,0>0,255,0) but that seems like a lot of work for a simple task.

Any idea on what might me the problem?

Are you certain the colors are off? Is that based on the RGB values you're getting, or just the appearance in the custom preview? The custom preview you are displaying is reflecting a bit of light - if you want matte, accurate colors directly from the image, use mesh colours instead. (or a material component with your color as emissive and diffuse + specular set to black).

ok, thanks for the input. I went to check if the RGB values are correct, and I have found out that some curves did somehow produced more centre points so my color sampling was off (points-UV did not match divisions)

with regards, Stefan
