Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I am wondering wether it is at all possible to sample multiple images at the same time using the image sampler component / or another component?

thanks,

Peter

Hi Peter,

nope. The Image Sampler can only handle a single image. If you want to sample multiple images you'll need to write some VB/C# code. It won't be particularly easy, but the ultra-fast sampling algorithms are available in the Grasshopper SDK (Grasshopper.Kernel.GH_MemoryBitmap class).

using processing to convert lots of images into a single csv file with rgb valued that I read back in

Hello,

I am currently also trying to sample many images at once. I will be using them to do height fields of an array of surfaces that are all connected. Sort of an "image of images" project. I was wondering how the csv is utilized with the image sampler. Also, I am familiar enough with processing to create csv files, however, I am not quite sure what the csv file ends up looking like (in what way are the images parsed out into a csv).

If you could shed some light on this I would greatly appreciate it. Sounds very interesting. I would like to avoid having 100+ copies of the same image sampling/heightfield definition! Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Cheers,

Ron
