algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I have a surface that has a ratio of 1 to 3 and an image that has a ratio of 1 to 3. For some reason i am having trouble getting these two to match up.

Hi Charles,

Generally it's easiest to leave the the domain of the image sampler at 0 - 1 in both directions and reparameterize the surface your mapping it to. That way the domains of both the surface and the image are equivalent and you wont need to worry about ratio discrepancies between the two.

Once thats taken care of, plug the UV output from the surface grid component into the image sampler instead of the P output.
Thanks for the reply David, Im not exactly sure how to parametrize my surface because it has to be a specific height and width. I set the domain of the image with a 1 to 1 ratio like you said, but I cant change the UV because it has to have a ratio equal to the ratio of the surface.

If you have a second could you upload an example where a rectangular surface is mapped with a rectangular image but the aspect ratio is equal (it is filled with circles that are equally spaced)

Thanks allot for the help.

Looks like you've almost got it. Just right click on the "S" input on the surface grid component and hit "reparameterize" in the menu.

This doesn't affect the physical dimensions of the surface it just resets the surface domain to 0,1 in both U and V directions. With your image sampler domains also set to 0,1 the output UV data becomes transferable between the two.
Thats exactly what I was looking for, thanks allot for the help David!

Por favor, puede mostrar me donde se realiza el cambio?

una imagen del lugar.

gracias
