algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Basically I am trying to generate point from a image and make sectional contours.

At the moment, by using slider I bake contour lines and now wondering if there is a way

to make a definition to do it rather baking lines with moving a slider.

It would be really grateful if anyone could help me out.

Probably you have gotten over the problem by that time but I just add one more possible solution. It's just a quick try.

I have never managed to work it out so far

Actually I have just modified some in your definition as numbers of top and bottom contour were different

Anyways, but as you can see above top contour lacks one line and have no idea

Can you possibly have a look?

Try now. What I did right now is that I cleaned a bit the result of mesh section line points before adding them to nurb curve. For me it showed the equal number of top and bottom curves. Is this showing diffenent to you? It can be so because I worked on your last .3dm-file.

I have applied on 200mmx200mm surface and outcome is still same

(did't change anything in your definition)

And also I have tested on rectangle, not square, and still same thing happen

What was your surface that you tried on?

Seems that contour component didn't create the first section. After replacing it with mesh-plane section component it works well. Also added some flattening and one reverse input task to some component's input parameter.

It has been absolutely helpful for my project!!

Try this one. I did another quick look. This time it is much rational... I did'n use anymore mesh geometry for getting sections. It is much easyier than the first scetch. Sorry for messing around, but i had just a vision that I would do it with mesh if I had random point grid. But now i looked into your outputs more carefully and there are already sorted points...so no need for delaunay mesh anymore.

Now I am trying to understand whole definition and have a question.

What does 'reparameterize' on SDivide component do?

I know it is going to be mess if I turn off reparameterize but still quite don't get what it does.

In the rightclick help menu it says:

"Surface geometry can have any intrinsic parameter domain, depending on what subtype of surface is represented and the method of creation that was used. However, by enabling the 'Reparameterize' option in Parameter menu, all local surfaces will be forced unit domains in both u and v directions (0.0 ~ 1.0)."

Basically it forces surface domains to 0.0-1.0 instead of something else that can be there. It makes the surface to a whole (initial coordinates u=0.0-1.0 and v=0.0-1.0, starting form 0.0,0.0) where let's say the midpoint for example has uv-coordinates u=0.5, v=0.5. This option is also available for curves.
