I don't understand Shatter

Hi, 

I've been trying to created a lofted surface between one surface and another rotated copy of it. I've extracted the edges from the surface, found the point along edge that I want to split and Shattered it. But the output is the same curve as the input (the curve does not appear to have been shattered and the S output is one curve). How do I extract one segment from the Shatter?

Shatter needs a t input and you are providing a point. you need to evaluate the curve at the point you want and find where along the curve it sits (the t parameter) and then give this t to shatter component.
