algorithmic modeling for Rhino
First, I use GH exclusively, with Rhino used only for the viewport.
I would like to have different "view" definitions that would only display specific objects in the Rhino viewport.
For example, say I have GH objects grouped into 20 different groups (e.g. Group1, Group2, Group3, ...) Depending on what I'm working on I want to have a specific group's objects shown in the viewport.
I know that I can turn on "only show preview for selected objects", but that requires that the object in GH always be selected. As soon as I click elsewhere in the GH window, the viewport of that group is hidden.
Is there anyway to bring up a selection and tell GH to only show those objects in the Rhino viewport. Following the example above, something like displaying a list of the available groups and then picking Group6 and have that displayed in the viewport?

Hey David, thanks... I'd never tried the Viewport Filter before so I'm playing around with it right now. First... in the example you provided above filtering a component to the "Top" viewport; is there a way to automatically hide everything else that is not set to the "Top" viewport (e.g. the only thing that would show in the Top viewport would be the one sphere.
Nope. Like I said, probably not what you're looking for. You'd have to hide everything in your document except for all [Custom Preview] components, and even then you have to do a lot of work to make it display the way you want...

Thanks for the feedback David. I'll see what I can figure out. At some point I think it would be a nice feature as I find myself getting lost and needing to hide / unhide things. Plus, I have different people that I show things to and they are interested in different "views" of the model for our discussions, so it would be really handy to have a way to flip through the different views. Again, thanks for the replies!
