Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

May I ask if there's a way to uninstall the GhPython component?

Some of our students still can't access the LB+HB components as the Python component is not working, i.e. it appears as a Panel component when dragged onto GH canvas.

They tried dropping the ghpython.gha file onto GH and restart Rhino and GH, but it still doesn't work.

I know this component is in the following folder on C drive, but the students using our lab computer don't have the admin authorization to access that folder.

C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries

Advice is appreciated!

Hi Grasshope, Sorry to hear you guys still have issues. It's usually a matter of unblocking the GHPython.gha file. If the file is already unblocked then make sure Rhino is also updated. That should solve the problem. There are couple of similar discussions like this on the group.

From Rhino 6 Python component will come as default Grasshopper component. That should make our life much easier. :)

Noted with many thanks, Mostapha!

I forgot that you and Marios have provided the suggestion in this regard:

Did it work? Thanks!

As Mastapha mentions, Grasshopper in Rhino WIP contains now GhPython as a native add-on. GhPython in the WIP has priority over other manually-installed add-ons, so it will be possible to have two different versions, one for Rhino 5 and one for the WIP and future versions.
