Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everybody,

i need to roll a generic tessellation onto a cone.

i made a cone in gh, then unrolled it onto a plane, with a user component that i found here on the blog. then i created a tessellation on the unrolled surface. now i need to roll it up on the cone. i tried with te command retrim, and it works for rerolling the surface, but i can't visualize the lines of the tessellation on the cone. is it possbile to do??

thanks in advance!

Retrim is a totally unrelated command, which no, does not re-roll the surface. But you don't have to re-roll it since it retains the UV structure of the original so can merely have geometry Surface Morphed from one to the other, the Grasshopper equivalent of the Rhino FlowAlongSrf command:
