There is a shade preview component which by default gives you an apple green colour which you can change using another component. It is not brilliant but I think it will take too much resource if a full blown rendering process is used.
In Grasshopper you have a button that looks like a fried egg. Select the components in Grasshopper that contains the model you would like to render, click the fried egg-button to bake that to actual Rhino geometry which you then can render.
Thanks so much!It really works!

I Lars, I'm an new user of Grasshopper and Rhino.

I´m looking exactly for this kind of button! but I didn't find it. In witch part of the menu can i look?

Thank's

Solution>'Bake Selected' from the Main Menu Bar or right click on a selected component and look in the context menu that pops up.

I found It!

Animating with GH :

We can't bake all the frames of a 1000 frame animation, it would take so long!... So there must be an alternative? Has GH got a function that utilises one of the plug-in engines (like penguin) to render the frames output in combination with the clever and simple slider animation function?
Hey, I need exactly this option too!
(Except, that I have 2000 frames but) I also want to render with Penguin..
I think a VB component will be the solution, with a Boolean toogle connected to it.. but what will be the script?
Help us, pls!
Several people have posted definitions that automate this process. Bake geometry, render, save frame, delete geometry, bake again, etc. Actually, in my first post in this forum i posted a definition that does exactly that:
http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/vray-animation?page=1&...

It will render using the current render engine.
