Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am trying to model a tree-like structure with the plug-in Rabbit, but I found the "F" in it is always a line. Can I redefine it as a curve or surface? Is there anyone could help me with my problem? Thanks!

Dear Joyce,

you can't redefine the 'F' symbol. If you need a curve you can use multiple line segments to form the curve. You can have multiple L-Systems+Turtles and loft them to obtain a surface.

The symbol 'F' means 'move forward+draw a line'. This concept dates back from the turtle graphics in the LOGO programming language. Read more here: http://el.media.mit.edu/Logo-foundation/logo/turtle.html

We were thinking of a way to redefine symbols in Rabbit using a Symbol Map...maybe we'll include that in the future releases...

Hi Morphocode,

Thanks very much and I will read the tutorial, Rabbit is really a great plugin!

Cheers,

Joyce
