How to put random supports in between horizontal slabs

Hi Everyone!

I posted about this project a while back and got some great help making the horizontal members of the below pavilion. However, I'm now trying to figure out how to do the vertical supports in grasshopper because the placements and sizes are a bit random and I was trying different methods. I settled on doing the attached script which basically finds points along the edges to be able to make the rectangles to eventually extrude to make the support. But before I go any further, because it's going to be a long process to find every point randomly, I'm just wondering if there is a better way to do this because I'm still new to grasshopper and trying to learn.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you in advance.

full compliments on your presentation on the canvas, very neat and easy to decipher.

I've attached a few suggestions and techniques which I hope you find useful for using paths and branches and where possible to re-use pipelines that have already been calculated.

Thank you for your kind words and these suggestions! It's clearer to me now.
