Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I found this pattern really cool and I want to make the same in grasshopper for further research. Does anyone know how to make it?

I've written some scripts for it but they did not achieve the effect I want, and then I get stuck on the scripting... Really need some help now since it is a bit emergent...

Thanks a lot!!!

Sincerely,

Dora

Hello Hyungsoo, Thank you so much for helping me!!!

Now I am really thinking of making some new year's cards :) Really cute dog, by the way.

I don't have LunchBox so can't really see what you and Hyungsoo did.  But using 'Image Sampler' is cheating isn't it?  I see no point at all in supplying that Rhino file?

Here's what I got - straight GH:

Note the two points ("X") who's position affects the result, as does the configuration of the 'Gradient' component.  This is at a MUCH SMALLER scale than you used so you'll have to 'Zoom Extents' to see it.

Why did you create a second thread on the same subject?  That's never a good idea, IMHO.  Cheers.

UI improvements

Added a 'Scale' slider (1..1000) and a pair of 'MD Sliders' to move the two "attractor" points in an XY domain that is triple the range defined by the grid, thanks to a 'ExtDom' cluster.  Scale has no effect on the pattern; changing the grid size moves the two points.

Replace 'TriGrid' with 'HexGrid' - Ho, Ho, Ho.

Oh wow! That's exactly what I what...Hyungsoo taught me how to use image sampler! And then after that i was trying to write a script to replace the function of image sampler and now you gave me the great answer! Thanks a lot! Happy Boxing day!
