algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hey friends,

i have projected a set of curves onto a mesh. how can i make them now bekome one with the mesh, so that the curves and the mesh have the same verticies/points?

because i would like to set them as anchorpoints on the mesh afterwards.

i would be glad for a small definition and for some advice.

ps: splitting works very roughly

hi, 

i assume you want to do a further relaxation for the mesh? There are few ways of aligning misaligned mesh edges to lines that you want.

in rhino:

1. [slow but sure] adjusting control points of the mesh. Click on mesh, pointsOn, and drag each of the vertices to the desired/ closest line. 

2. [faster but inaccurate] rebuilding the surfaces bounded by lines (i see that your lines are made up of lots of little segments, you might need to redraw the lines again), convert to mesh

or Grasshopper it:

1. [slow and tedious] analyse the distance from each vertices to the closest lines, translating the closest vertices onto the closest lines

there are some other ways that i could think of but firstly your curves have to be simpler, i selected one of it and explode it, it gave me more than 1000 segments. let me know if you have simplified it, i will try to help with the readjustment of vertices.

I'm facing a similar problem and would like to have some more clarification on the method you suggested using Grasshopper?

How can I translate vertices of a mesh within extracting them from the mesh? (As in, can I just translate the vertices as if they were the control points of the mesh, instead of deconstructing the mesh into its vertices and then rebuilding them?)
