Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello

I would like to fillet and close de gap between each unit (each one was drown by 4 point connected to a middle point). I think I should:

  • Find the intersection of inside borders.
  • Fillet the outside borders.
  • Draw a line between them.

Now I have a unit like the pink one on the screenshot, I would like to obtain what I drew in rhino in cyan on this screenshot.

How can I do that in gh, I’m looking for that since few hours without success...

Thank for the Help!

Hi, I still doesnt have solved this question... Someone would have an idea please?

Hy Mich,

If the edges always intersect each other in the midpoint of the lines, then this could be a geometrical solution,

1. Find the part, that is the boolean And of the two areasand then mirror it to the outsideHope it helps, if you have further questions, feel free to ask them.

Nice Greets

Hello Alex,

Thank for your answer, it's a nice geometrical way to solve that.

But In fact I'm still lost because I work with boxes created by an extrusion from a section along a curve in gh.

They share each other the same point and I would like to filet them... I have many boxes connected like it, do you think your solution will work so many time?

Then I tried in gh to solve it.. but now I dont know how to fill my intersection, a loft doesnt work well.

Thx again!

Hi Mick ..

I don't know exactly if this is the thing what you mean, but i've added some components in your grasshopper definition ..

look at it, and I'm hoping, that it will help you

Nice greets

Nice it's really what I wanted. But just one last question. Do yo know why now I have some boxes that are placed below Z=0 ?

I don't know exactly.I've loaded it another time and built it another time and now it seems to work properly ..

Thx a lot! it works very well!

No problem .. have fun with it ;).
