How to deal with sliders that control many things?

Hello everyone,

I wonder if there is a way to avoid my definition to be plagued with long cables.

The obvious would be to use faint or hidden cables display, but isn't there a way to sync two or more sliders so that they move together? That would be nice.

(Im not done organizing this definition)

I made one of the same idea a few minutes ago, don't worry I got you for the screenshot haha ;)

Why wouldn't you just do it with data components and hidden wires (like how grasshopper used to have receiver components before there was hidden wires built in)

01. make a slider, connect it to data

02. name the data component the same as the slider name, for organization

03. make the data component wire as hidden

04. copy paste the data component wherever you need that slider value to be

Im definitely gonna start using that. Thanks.

Still, it would be nice to have the slider value displayed on the data item.

What about just pluging the data into a panel and grouping them (ctrl+g) before you  copy / paste them around.

There are also a few more ways, like:

a) making your solution more minimal by hiding index and path

b) grouping the slider and data item, naming it and using the blob grouping

c) or you could even just use a named panel

d) and of course the oft forgotten remote control panel

05. If you want to jump to the actual slider from one of the data items, you just select it and press Ctrl - Left Arrow and it will jump upstream to the slider.

OH!!

Never known this!

Very useful!

Yea, after I posted this I realized I could just use a named panel :D

I managed to synchronize two sliders using Metahopper components.

However I think the component was created with just one slider in mind.
Maybe http://www.grasshopper3d.com/profile/AndrewHeumann can upgrade his component?
