how to create an undulating surface

Hi everyone

I am relatively new to GH and was wondering how the basic form of this facade could be generated in grasshopper. The slicing part is pretty straightforward but how about the initial form?

Would really appreciate if someone could suggest some ways or methods of generating such a geometry. Image sampler perhaps?
