How to construct forest canopy structure ?

Hi guys, I m newbie here. Do you have any idea of how to construct this forest canopy structure ? I have been trying hard with lofting or curve network, but end up couldn't get the result i wanted.

Check out these videos. You'll need to specify a different curve in the graph mapper than what he uses, but it should get you a similar effect.
