How to connect to another software

Hi everybody,

I want to make a plugin can connect to another software for weather simulator, but i don't know how to become. Who can share me example code for connect to another sorfware and how to request, send ..values... (as same as geco plugin for ecotect software). Thanks.

It really depends on the software. Does it have a .NET SDK? Does it send data to a specific port? Can it stream data to the clipboard? Can it stream data to a file?

I want to interactive with autodesk flow design for wind analysis. I think it will as same as ecotect because it is autodesk family.

Hi Tue,

Ecotect is out of date and the standards / SDKs changed a lot since then at autodesk. Either you have to contact Autodesk to ask for a SDK of Flow Design Standalone. There is nothing public yet. And probably you have to pay for the support.

Or use Flow Design for Revit and take a look at the Revit SDK. This would be a lot easier and with C# you have a lot of interaction possibilities to Rhino.
