How to change a flat hexagonal grid's density with an attractor ?

Hi guys,

 

Has someone ever managed to change the density of a hexagonal flat grid in GH based on an attractor ?

 

I have tried jellyfish but couldn't keep the outcome flat.

When I do it like this he also deforms the lines near the attractor point in reverse. I'll show you. In this case I get a Donut as result.

Your point is probably located at a different elevation from the rest of the grid.

Also if you turn the min/max toggle to true, the effect will be contained within the attractor's unique range.

Play around with the different inputs and you will find the result quite different.

There is the same effect when the point is on the cPlane.

In attach another picture and the grasshopper data. Maybe you can help me?

It is planar and yes you can confine it within a specific range.

sorry I'm new to grasshopper and I try to duplicate you file, but when I play around with the attractor points, it doesn't change the size of the triangles smoothly. How do I make it so that the sizes can change smoothly. I think its been controlled by the outside points, that's why its doing this. I uploaded a photo. Thank you for your help.

But it has to shrink near the attractor point, not to blew up, doesn't it?

Toggle the RE input to switch between attraction and repulsion.

Again you will have to experiment with different forces, ranges and other option to get the desired outcome.
