how to animate through number slider without producing images

It seems the animation function of number slider will produce image of a given view which may take quite a while to finish depending on the number of frames to generate.

Is there a way to animate though slider without producing the image, i.e. just show the change of the model in the current view?

Thanks.

Not while using the animate feature. You'll have to either just manually drag it, or somehow script it.

The attached example might help get you started on this (using GHPython and a timer).

Thank you, David and Anders.

For the time being, I can just use a relatively small size blank view to animate the slider without affecting the animation speed.

Anders, thanks for the example using the timer. I'll take a look later to understand how the script takes the inputs from the slider and the timer for its operation.
