How can I duplicate an object that is not affected by changes any more?

Hi.

I'm trying to make an duplicated object (BRep) that is completely isolated from other value changes.

Is that possible without baking it?

The new function "Internalize" is good for my purpose, but I want to do it upon specific user input (such as pressing a key).

Is there a script command (VB or C#) for internalize an object (BRep or Mesh)?
