algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I have a problem and hope for help.
I want to construct (Rhino & Grasshopper) an object, which consists of different sized balls, who shall merge with each other. Ensuing I want to “drill” holes to the surface, similar to the picture above.
Can anybody help me?
Perhaps it is totally simple, but I’m a terrible amateur, so please help me! :)
Thank you in advance!
Regards
Danke schon mal im Voraus!
Liebe Grüße

I looked for "weaverbird" but I couldn't find it. Where can I find it?
Also i couldn't find "voronoi on surface". I have only "voronoi", "Surface", "Curve on surface", "Voronoi Groups", "Surface Frames", "Surface CP", "Surface Box", "Divide Surface", "Map to Surface", "Surface Points", "4Point Surface" and "Surface Curvature".
Is it able to connect some components?
If not - are there any other ways to make holes?
Oh, sorry. I looked over the weaverbird-download...
Okay. Now I installed weaverbird.
How can I incorporate "weaverbird" into my curcuit?
Thanks very much!
Hi Hannes,
i have similar problem...please could you help??
Please find my attached design representation of a non planar mesh + GH Definition + My concept sketch of the final representation that i want to achieve.
i have come as far as creating a mesh to my desired form. Could you please help me with creating fenestrations / holes into this mesh?
Look at Michael did with Weaverbird in here.
I think it's fastest and simple way to make pic above.
Okay, thank you very much, that is a good advice.
I tried a few things, but I'm still not satisfied.
For example I dont't know how to change the size of the holes or the type.
I'n still not able to experiment with the compoment.
And i don't know how to connect it with my metaballs...
based on your def before, are you sure to have a mesh face from your metaball? to make a holes you must have mesh face first, metaball just make isocurve.
Exactly this is the problem I have since the beginning of constructing.
I have only isocurves.
How do I get a mesh face? How to connect the compoments together? Can you show me as circuit?
Thank you.
Based in your word before:
"This is the current status of my object.
Now I want to "drill" holes into the surface.
Does anyone know how to make it?"
I'm sorry to think you had done with mesh face before.
Take a look to Hannes say first time and the link, with metaball it's difficult to make a mesh face. Divide your isocurve into spread point > right click and bake > now from that point in rhino you can use Mesh from point (David way in Naughty way) > smooth.
It's so slow in my laptop to do that action, and the result still not clean.
