Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi, I am new to honeybee and I love it. I was trying to reproduct basic parametrict modeling from you video but get i strange error from the AskMe Object.

TypeError('Value cannot be null.\r\nParameter name: source',)
Failed to copy the object. Returning the original objects...
This can cause strange behaviour!

However, it seems that Zones are created properly!

Hi Xandrika,

It is an issue with IronPython's copy.deepcopy, and happens when Honeybee tries to make a copy from the original zone. It happens on some of systems mine not included. The good news is that as far as you don't make multiple copy from the same Honeybee objects it should be totally fine.

Hi Mostapha,

I also have the same issue when I build a definition following Honeybee tutorials that Chris uploaded in youtube.

I have on zone only and connected it with the script about adiabatic walls that you uploaded ( http://www.grasshopper3d.com/group/ladybug/forum/topics/honeybee-e-... ) and it gives an error saying NoSun.

Would appreciate a lot if you have time to check it.

Thank you!

Hi Mostapha,

I am having the same issue. Could you please suggest some solution and also how to prevent honeybee making multiple copies?

Thanks in advance,

Ram

Hi Ram,

Which version of Honeybee, and which version of Rhino are you using? Version 5 SR12 64-bit?

Honeybee has to create multiple copies of the objects so the changes doesn't get applied to the same instance.

Hi Mostapha,

I am using Rhino version 5, grasshopper version 0.0.56 on win 32 bit system. Could you please suggest me a way out of this?

Ram

Hi Ram,

Generally speaking if you're not branching out the zones you should be fine to go ahead and disregard this warning. In any case my suggestion is update your Grasshopper and Rhino to the latest version.

Hi Mostapha,

Thanks for your reply. LB+HB are absolutely great tools but somehow I am not able to use them as I keep on getting strange errors. Like for grid based simulation, I was using your example file and upon running the simulation I got an error stating solution exception:out of range 0. Now since I am not from a coding background I am not able to understand the problem and hence not being able to use. I also looked on the forum but could not find an answer that solves my problem.

Ram

Mostapha,

I have tried a few ways to prepare geometry. Still I this error does not go away. IS there a remedy?

Thanks,

Devang
