algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hey Guys,
Have been working on creating a pattern onto a surface but I wanted to get my specifications right. The follwoing are two sets of images, Ihave also attached the grasshopper and surface file. The second image is what I wnat to achieve and is highlighted in red. I want the boundary solid and the pattern a little thick. I plan to exture them together so that I get a uniform extraction, but I dont seem to get how to, please help!
Also can you smooth the final extursion? like make the final thing really smooth on the surface?
Thank You so much guys.

Hey,
Just had a look and this actually works. From what I understand you have made a planar surface with the same specifications. I was thinking more like a semi automated solution, where I could just import any surface be it with two boundaries or a simple square sheet with four boundaries, the could do exactly what you did.
Any suggestion of the smoothening?
This is great, thank you
I don't know exactly what you mean by "smoothing", anyway you can convert your brep to mesh and then you can apply "Mesh Subdivision" algorithm like "Catmull_Clark" subdivision using "Wearverbird" or "Element" plug-in in GH.
Hey,
Just got back, was a longer engagement than I expected. Right I have tried your method and it works but the use is limited. I have been looking at this tutorial about converting all to a mesh and thats for smoothening only. My idea was to work with any type of surface with unknow dimensions and imprint the pattern to it. I think I might achieve that but highlighting the boundary seems to be an issue at the moment.
Any suggestions on highlighting the coundary like you have done earlier?
Thank You
