Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone!

I need to make hi-res (300 dpi) of the screen of Rhino workspace, with the grasshopper object in it... The only way to have it is to bake GH elements and then processing them with rhino? When I bake, I lose the Preview Colour I give them with GH, and cannot bake the preview.... In other terms, is it possible to export GH drawings without baking them?

Thank you!!

Umberto

the attachment is a low-res (96 dpi) print screen with window's catch...

my fault. It can be easyly done. Anyway thank you all!!

-_ViewCaptureToFile and -_ViewCaptureToClipboard would be my favourite approach. You can specify the dimensions of the output and Grasshopper preview geometry should be included.

I used the print (rigth click on named viewport..), and "Image FIle bmp jpeg tiff png" as printer.... On the first try I set the wrong view, and objects were very very small... but then I named some views (to use together with printscreen of windows... and tried by luck print of rhino... et voilà! :D it works.... The lesson is: never give up!

Thank you David, as long as I am using GH I found new things I can do... and many ways to do them!!!

Hi David,

and what if I want to export the viewport directly from GH?

thank you

Marco

In that case get a pointer to the RhinoView you wish to export and call the CaptureToBitmap methods on it.

thank you very much David, but I'm not so confident with C# and coding, where can I find some ready to use component? what i want to do is running a GH definition that creates a 3d mesh reading an excel file. then i want to export a specific portion of the top rhino viewport as an image...

thanks in advance
