That said, Lunchbox has a nice patch surface component.

The next release of GH will have a native Patch component.

define "better"...lunchbox looks like it takes curves only as inputs, but it's easy; scripting it is more demanding, but can accept inputs just as the rhino command can.

Or you can wait for 9.0015...:)
