algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Just a cautionary mention that from time to time people join the Grasshopper Forum with ulterior motives. They are usually suspended within hours of joining. But this is more reactionary than preventative. In order to be detected they have to interact.
Today I was a bit concerned to see that one of them had amassed 10 friends in the short time they were a member.
Please don't be sucked in. I'm not going to list the things to watch out for, as that would give the game away, just be careful.

OK!? Thanks Danny!
It's nothing sinister at face value just the typical "Hello Dear" message to get you to respond with an email. A friend confirmation in the Grasshopper world is still detached from you as a person. It's the email address of a real person that they are after, preferably one that will comply with personal information requests.
I don't see the point of friending in the first place (here or in real life*). But I don't think it can be switched off.

* just kidding about real life
i like friending on GH because I friend people whose work I am interested in, to check in on occasion to see what new things they are doing. and also , people I know that can help me with specific issues when I get stuck.
I think the only real use of it is so we can all slag the developer off behind his back.
-Did I just say that out load? :))
I also like getting emails when one on my friends makes a post (like this one) to potentially save me from life threatening situations :)
Me too. ^^
My Inbox is still clear!
As David is a self confessed Futurama fan, which portrays dark comedy and self-deprecation but also a certain amount of insult comedy at its best, I think (I hope) he knows that I hold him in the highest regards and wish him and Grasshopper only the best. I mean where would we be...
